Unpopular opinion, but I don’t think that first outfit that carries is wearing is actually that bad compared to some of her other outfits…. I’m actually loving it….
But I also think she can get away with it because she literally has one of the most amazing sculpted bodies I’ve ever seen . Like her abs and season three I died….
I loved seeing all the versions of your outfit! And you looked fabulous in the end. I have a rule for myself that whatever I wear out of the house, own it. I tell myself I committed to this outfit and it’s on me so I’m going to keep my head high and look like I feel great in it even if I’m full of regrets.
And sometimes when I’m out I’ll see a woman whose outfit looks kind of “wrong” for the context, but I can see that she put some effort into it and I always think, that woman had a vision, she was in her room this morning playing. She might look a bit off, but I applaud her because I can imagine her dreaming up that outfit. There’s something more intimate about it than seeing someone in a very on-trend look.
Certain costume designers are too creative for their own good. In my personal opinion, the one who dresses Emily in Emily in Paris needs to put away the bong. Emily makes Carrie Bradshaw look like Ms. Normal.
I’ve been noodling on exactly this topic when I came across your post! You captured the conundrum perfectly. And why shouldn’t we all aspire to be Queens of the Silly Little Outfit? Life *is* sort of silly! Thanks for sharing your fashion exploration, I loved it!
thanks for the kind words lindsay :)) everything can be silly !! im a firm believer that embarrassment is a choice & if you go into styling/dressing with the mindset of “it’s not that deep” you can have so much fun & even laugh at yourself sometimes. that’s okay too !!
Fucking love this attitude! Plus I know my own “most embarrassing” outfits all helped me figure out what I do and don’t like in my clothing tbh ¯\_(ツ)_/ and then give it another decade and a half and you’ll come back around to them like, “oh wait, I was really on to something actually!”
Thank you !! And totally. If I had a dollar for every time I flip flopped over liking a certain style or trend or piece over the years, I would be a very rich woman ;) ahahah
Love your attitude! We learn from our “mistakes” and really, no noticed or cared that it wasn’t up to our personal standards. I find that looking back, often those “bad” outfits weren’t even all that awful as I first thought. Rock on! Inspirational!
Thanks so much !! & exactly. I feel the same way. I look back at my outfits in photos & am happy that I did something different because at least it’s still entertaining me now, all these years later :) hahaha

Thank you so much 🫶🏻 And that’s a fantastic rule. Confidence really is the final accessory. ✨💅🏻

HAHA the irony is, it’s the same costume designer 😭😭 she just got a little TOO daring as time went on, I suppose

Love this so much!
Carrie wore things that in real life would have got her laughed at by the public
and the public is me. i am the public ✨

Is it fashion or is she just a skinny white lady?
